The word Pashmina is derived from the Persian word 'Pasham' which means wool. The wool used to make pashmina is found in Leh in Kashmir and Kargil in the foothills of the Himalayas. Pashmina wool is used in India for warm suits and shawls. It's too hot.  The weaving of this suit and shawl is very similar to carpet weaving. Weaving artisans have tremendous skill and patience.
